Jennifer Bensinger Katz
In 2006, I earned dual master’s degrees in Social Work and Child and Family Law from Loyola University Chicago. For the first decade of my career, I served as a school social worker, where I gained invaluable experience supporting children, families, and educational teams. Since then, I have transitioned to private practice here on the North Shore. Being a North Shore native myself, I deeply understand the unique blend of academic, social, and cultural pressures that families in our community navigate daily. This perspective helps shape my compassionate, individualized approach to care.
When working with children and adolescents, I firmly believe that collaboration is key. Partnering with parents, educators, and other providers ensures a comprehensive and cohesive therapeutic process. I frequently attend 504/IEP meetings to further support and advocate for your child, fostering success both in and out of the classroom.
I also dedicate time to educating and supporting parents and siblings of neurodivergent children. Family work is integral to achieving positive outcomes, as addressing the broader family dynamic can create a stronger foundation. Together, we evaluate when and how to involve family members in the process, tailoring support to meet individual needs. My experience with adults centers on managing parenting challenges, work stress, relationships, and major life changes.
